I am totally obsessed. I read all things Dekker this summer, even the young adult series. I can’t wait for Green, but wonder what I will do once that is read.
hmmmm to buy or not to buy that is the question of all Ted Dekker Fans. I have all 3 original books and now I have to get this one! This will make number 5 of all Ted Dekker books

What about the sexual references? I was very disapointed with some of the overt refrences to sexuality. Yes, I know that it exists and I think that it can be very amazing within marriage, but what about the twelve-year-olds that are looking forward to this book. What about the fact that the couple is not married in this book. I was a bit disapointed with this. So much so that I wasn’t able to finish the book. I hope to see some more editing for a more family-friendly approach in later editions.

You should all know that there is a strong possibility that this man is a Rosicrucian. He parades as a christian but is really sowing the seeds of an entirely different “Gospel”. Every one of his works deals with “secret knowledge” being the way of salvation. His full circle series is a cleverly designed ruse depicting the Rosicrucian and esoteric believe in the “perfect man” or “perfect Child” Based on the mathematical concept in the Pythagorean theory. You can see it in his statements like “is God a Lion, a Lamb or a Boy” and many others. The more I look into his works the more convincing it gets. He even has a cleverly modernized rose and cross that he has all of you wanting. It is a requirement within the order that they put a rose and cross somewhere on their works. Ted Dekker ha put this on more than one work. The Circle saga is one of the most clever displays of Rosicrucian ideology i ahve ever seen.
If you are a Born Again Christian and Disciple of Christ be AWARE and stay away from this material.
I was Kind of bothered by two of the messeges I read regarding Green. The post about there being sexual references made me curious as to which book they were in. I read the trilogy at least a year ago so I am hazy on the details, but what exatly are you meaning? With Thomas and Rachelle they were definitely within bounds of decency, I believe, and you couldnt have read Green already..
My primary and greater concern, however, was sparked by the comment from TheHellbinder. I have just begun reading my twentieth book by Ted Dekker, and have come to know his theology well. I would agree that there does seem to be a consistency to his works involving a secret society and secret knowledge, but I hope that I am not so uneducated in my faith that I would be completely decieved, and I am sure that others feel similarly. His stories seem to be spreading God’s words, with legitimate Biblical material spoken by many of his main characters. Ted Dekker seems to have captured the hearts and minds of a great many people, and if that messege has bothered anyone else, than I would suggest prayer, and Bible reading. Though I myself am no theologian, I feel strongly that Ted Dekker is himself a man of God, and a man of faith. Thank you for your concern and your warning, TheHellbinder. It is important for all to guard their hearts, so any Christians reading works by Ted Dekker should also read their Bibles…just sayin

Well Ted Dekker is a phenomenal author and a great messenger of Gods word and love. How else better to spread the word of god then as a New York Times bestseller!!? I love his story telling ability and his way to use metephors to express the unfathomable greatness of God yet, making it so tangible to our society. Keep up the good work Dekker.

I have to agree strongly with Jonathan, and question what you are saying. Rosicrucianism is essentially in every way different from Ted Dekker’s writing. “Is God a Lion, or a Lamb, or a Boy” is a reference to Revelation 5. God is, at all times, one who comes with the sword (scripture), and with Peace, for those who love and follow him. Don’t try too much to domesticate God to look like us…He is what He is, and you can’t put Him in a box, which is what Dekker is pointing out here. God is, at all times, what he wants to be or needs to be, because frankly, He’s God. If you read the Circle, the way one is saved from the scabbing disease and rescued into Elyon’s love is no “closely guarded secret,” it’s a drowning WITH Christ (or, in the future, Justin), that is open to all that will accept it and drown. Elyon itself is another Hebrew word for God, or Most High, that refers to the same God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Christ. With almost any work of fiction, it is possible to read untrue intentions into the author’s writing…be careful, and don’t jump to conclusions based on personal preferences…look for the references based on what the author intends, and discover the deeper meanings, but don’t stretch it too far just to make the conclusions you reached before finishing the work. If you want to dispute Ted Dekker’s Christianity (which is not something anyone should EVER do, we don’t know people’s hearts, only God does), even if just in his writing, present facts and reasoning, not 1 example of something that could POSSIBLY mean something. If you want to make a point, have the evidence to back it up, please.
@ Johnathan: I am an employee at a Christian bookstore so I was able to get an advance copy of the book. Since it has been out for a couple of weeks now have you had a chance to read it?
What do you think? Do you see the references that I was referring to. It seems to be a bit stronger in this book than the rest.
