NOT impressed with Christian Retailing’s coverage. They really missed the point. The Gathering is not some marketing ploy you invented (though I am sure it is not hurting). It is so much more than that, so much more than they can imagine.

    They need to Dive Deep!

  • Even Ted, at one point, said the Gathering was not about selling books. Instead, it is about so much more…it is about reliving the Story of our redemptive history. Book sales…yeah, those are going to be a side effect, and by all means, let’s promote Ted. But with the Gathering, you had a Gathering of 500 of his fans. These guys didn’t need to be told to buy his books. They were the ones finishing the quotes with Ted and laughing at the inside jokes.

So, while it’s definitely a retailing thing, it’s more than that. It’s a group of like-minded individuals Gathering together to celebrate the Story of Redemption.

It is clear that the media has once again put their own spin on things. Did anyone actually talk to them? Were you asked why you came?
This was my first Gathering but certainly not my last. The fellowship was my favorite part. I also enjoyed watching our story of redemption told in the dance. Amazing love! That is what the weekend was all about, Elyon’s amazing love for us and our love for Him and each other. I’m still smiling!
