Just got my (signed) copy last week. Great book! I can’t put it down until the last word.

It deserves to be on International Best Seller.

  • Alexandra Lewis says:

hi, I really want to read you’re new book, I really like that book Adam, you should make a movie out of that book, it has been one of my favorites!

  • Danessa says:

Still waiting to get my copy of Boneman’s Daughter! Had to get my husband’s work colleague currently in USA on training to get me a copy to bring down to me here, way down south in Cape Town South Africa. Yep, your book is not available here yet, so sad… but I have done this many times before to get your books!! Can’t wait to get stuck into it…

  • Although I’m only 14 and there are large amounts of Spiritual messeges in your books which I am not good enough to notice, the ones I have noticed were actually quite disturbing. When I say disturbing, I don’t say it in a bad way; It causes me to become suddenly aware that demons do not have to posses someone to have their influence over them. Take, “Adam” for example, an extremely thrilling supense book which explained how there where actually three levels of Demon possesion. Thank You so much for your great books.

  • Jeff Butler says:

I have very much liked and supported your writtings, but after getting into this newest book, you pushed my shut down button. Ted, how can you write a book and use the G-D in it? I can not believe someone who could write the wonderful books you have would do that. You always push us and I thank you for that but to use that term is showing a thread in your thinking that has come unglued. Push us, strech us, but do not take Jesus’ name or God’s name in vain. I promply return the Boneman’s Daughter to Books A Million. Sorry, until you respond to this I will not be able to recommend your writing any more. Please, please, come back the right side.

  • Michael says:

I am sorry but as I read more and more into this book, the notion of some form of religious fervour crept up my spine and just irks me.
It would have been a great book if religion (Genesis as a end of book quote – come on) was left out of it but it permeates the whole book and it just reeks of fatherly madness by the time this reader was done with reading it.

  • Rob says:

Profound! This certainly shows the Father’s love in an incredible way. One thing I would mention is to have your books edited several times over, possibly by readers. I found several typos and inconsistencies that can distract the reader. I don’t think your intent is to do so, nor do I think it’s the editor’s. So maybe incorporating more editing would do the trick (sample copies) before book release. Just a thought. Extraordinary message in an extraordinary format! Thank you for the thought provoking read! By the way, thanks also for giving us material that does not need language (or anything else) censorship!

  • Denise Ragland says:

I have read many of your books and never found foul language until this one. I am very disturbed by them swearing! I certainly hope you go back to writing Christian books. If not I am afraid I will have to find another favorite author.

  • Kirk says:

I was surprised; I have to say when I heard the Lords’ name taken in vain in this new book. Is this a first step to move over in to secular main stream? I always chose your books over the secular like Dean Koontz and the like because it was nice to read a book that didn’t use my Lord and saviors name like a curse word. Now I have to be on guard every time I get a book that is supposed to be by a Christian author.

  • Steve says:

I haven’t yet read “Boneman”s Daughters” and in fact am a couple books behind. I’ve followed his career with interest and truthfully didn’t get it in the beginning. “It” being why everyone was/is so captivated by him. His writing, I thought, was uneven and juvenile. Since those first experiances I’ve come to realize his heart and intent to reach people where their at. Not to be a Christian writer, and to only preach to the converted, but a storyteller who is a Christian attempting to go outside to the ones in need. And for this reason I support Mr. Dekker fully. To some that means he’s not christian enough for the church and too much so for the unconverted. I say this only to seperate who he is from the characters he’s speaking for. People in the outside world don’t speak pretty and do curse
God. So please cut him a break for what most of you are trying to string him up for. And for those of you who can’t handle it? There are plenty of cheesy Christian authors out there for you.

  • Charmaine says:

I just finished it few days ago and enjoyed it. Made me so THANKFUL for my wonderful Daddy who is very, very protective of me.

I have had a bio dad who walked out on the family, and then my Mama married again, and he adopted my two brothers and I. He was truly more of a father to me than my bio dad was.

I’m glad to say my bio dad isn’t bad as the BoneMan, but he is good at trying to destroy our family. And my Daddy won’t allow that. Reading the book makes me thankful that I had a father who won’t allow bio dad messing with his family.

In all, I really enjoyed BoneMan’s Daughters book. It was cool book.

  • Marissa says:

I have been a fan of your books for about four years. I’m about to be a senior in high school. Everyday I’m surrounded by the pressure to cuss. I lean on my friends and family and sometimes your books to be strong in not following that trend. although boneman’s daughter’s had a strong plot, it still managed to disappoint me. It’s hard to see your favorite christian author fall in to a trend that doesn’t serve God. I know no one’s perfect. But, if I’m a high school student who is managing to swim against the current…why can’t you?

  • Lee says:

I like many others, am disturbed by the language used in this work. I realize that the secular world uses this kind of language but your Christian followers do not. I would expect an appology to your loyal followers.
    Respectfuly yours,

    Lee

  • Elaine Brown says:

I got my copy of Boneman’s Daughters on Friday and finished it Saturday night. Try as I might to read slowly, I could not stop the story! I loved the reality that you give your characters. That is why the language did not offend me as it seems to have some readers. Dekker, you are a crazy genius. My only complaint is that I now have to wait til September to read Green! Could you please write books faster? I mean, if it’s not too much to ask. Thanks!

  • Donna Cundiff says:

As a retired school teacher, I used your novels and those of Frank Perreti as models for my Christian junior and senior high school students. I held you up as proof that talented writers could weave a spell-binding story without falling prey to the ways of the world.

I used your writing as proof that in a world of compromise, Christian writers could rise above predictable “milk toast” plots and dialogue without resorting to that compromise. As I began reading BONEMAN’S DAUGHTERS, I literally had to fight back tears as I read the language you chose for the characters. I even got on this website to verify this was the same Ted Dekker whose BLESSED CHILD, HEAVEN’S WAGER, among others, had enthralled me.

I am sad today. I can no longer recommend you without reservation to my family and friends.

  • steve says:

I’m confused. The people above who’ve shown a dislike for Mr. Dekker’s language choice(s) in “Boneman’s Daughter’s,” need to take a closer look at their knee jerk reaction. Do you all live under a dome? Work in a secluded christian environment or honestly have no non-christian friends? He isn’t trying to offend you, but simply render a complete picture of life outside the dome. Those outside care little for life inside unless you’re willing to spend some time with them. Jesus didn’t expect sinners to visit him in Synagogue; he went to them. Has anybody read the bible lately? What saddens me are those believers waiting to consume their own kind, to throw them under a bus–all for the sake of a few words. My guess is their wasted words and that Mr. Dekker will continue putting realistic language into the mouths of his characters. At least i hope so.

  • steve says:

Where did Mr. Dekker use G**D*** in Bonemans Daughters? Page # please…somebody? Ive read the book and don’t remember that phrase?

  • Thanks for the incredible info about online dating sites. You’re among the most legit bloggers I have read. I live in a extremely rural area in Iowa and there really aren’t many unmarried women in the vicinity. You think that will really hurt me in terms of mail order brides? I make pretty good money and I am ready to go visit anyone I meet. Should I stay away from bringing up how far out in the country I live? Is that going to really disturb beautiful Russian mail order brides or stunning Latin girls?

  • You seem to genuinely realize this mail order bride business. Thank you for taking the time to to explain the details about this situation . I would certainly be grateful for it if you could answer a couple of issues: Very first, how stressful would it be to get a visa for a exquisite international bride? I believe I will most likely make the leap and visit Moscow. Those alluring Russian brides are just so awesome! Which foreign dating agency is your special favorite?

Good article! What is the difference between a “real” spell and a “fake” one? Both everything and nothing. The only difference is simply the belief of the caster. If the spell-caster believes that the spell is real, then it is. If the spell caster is an apprentice and does not believe the spell is real, then it is not.
